Amy White left the newspaper business after 10 years as a reporter and editor but found she missed the reporting, the writing and the editing, just not her corporate bosses. For three years she served as Dan Empfield's editor at Slowtwitch.com, where she also wrote a popular column, Lanterne Rouge. She's also a small-scale race director and an avid age-group triathlete with many completely middle-of-the-pack finishes to her credit.

Jeff Henderson is a computer engineer by education but writer by desire. He started writing about the sport he loves, triathlon, in early 2002 and has been competing professionally for two years, also with many middle-of-the-pack finishes. In January of 2003 he moved to Europe with his wife, Melissa, and spent the better part of ten months covering the triathlon beat.
